Last month The Pokémon Company and Legendary Entertainment reached a deal for a new film franchise based around Detective Pikachu. According to Variety, the project has found its writers, too: Nicole Perlman and Alex Hirsch.

Perlman worked on Thor and co-wrote Guardians of the Galaxy with director James Gunn. She’s also writing the remake of Jim Henson (and David Bowie’s) cult-classic Labyrinth, co-writing the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, and worked on the Black Widow movie that voice-of-Solid-Snake David Hayter is writing.

Hirsch is the creator of the Disney anime Gravity Falls.
