Yes, that Middle-earth! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions are working on Guardians of Middle-earth, a new multiplayer online battle arena headed exclusively to consoles this fall.

More details will be divulged during tomorrow’s pre-E3 episode of GameTrailers TV, but for now, five vs. five multiplayer has been confirmed for this Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network title, in addition to a handful of characters: Gandalf, Sauron, Gollum, and Thráin. All told, there will be 20+ “iconic guardians.”

The website for Guardians of Middle-earth doesn’t appear to be up, but the Facebook page is active. Consider me very eager to see more of this game.
