When *I* think there’s too much alliteration, you got a problem

Grand Theft Auto‘s online universe continues to run and run, with Shark cards being snapped up weekly, and shed-loads of players still leaping into the carnage-filled cities with little more than mindless chaos and wanton destruction in mind.

But it’s not all about grenade-tossing and crashing your speedboat into a golf clubhouse. Some people just like taking to the streets in fast and furious fashion. Right now, those guys ‘n’ gals are in heaven, as Rockstar have just begun the Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series.

The GTA Online universe has been blessed with the Hotring Circuit, a high-speed race course which will afford up to thirty players the opportunity to burn rubber in a bid to win a selection of cool prizes, which include exclusive vehicles and in-game cash. Players can also attempt to beat the clock with a new Time Trial mode.

It’s not all about speed either, as the Tag Assault mode, coming to the track on April 3, will see two players piloting a vehicle and simultaneously shooting down track-side targets. If that isn’t enough, there is also a discount offered on Vehicle Upgrades, to get your beat-up jalopy ready for racing.

This is only the beginning, as future events, scheduled to go live in May, will see ten new Special Vehicle Races, seven new Transform Races and two more Adversary modes.

The Southern San Andreas Super Sports Series is live in GTA Online now.
