Grand Theft Auto V achieves $1 billion in sales

Three days. All it took was three days of availability for Grand Theft Auto V to pass the billion-dollar-sales mark. Take-Two believes this to be the fastest any entertainment product has reached the milestone and I’m almost frightened to see where things go from here.

After all, we were just telling you how GTA V earned $800 million in day-one sales. The billion-dollar figure was thrown around by analysts prior to release, and even though it’s a staggering number, it’s not too much of a surprise to see it come true.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has referred to the series as a “cultural phenomenon.” Pretty much. Now, about that PC version…
