Grand finale event for Gran Turismo 5 unlocks GT6 content

Goodbye, old friend

Gran Turismo 5 is going down — it’s servers are, I mean. On May 31, they pull the plug, but not without one last event. This month, for all of May, a race series in GT5 will reward users with cars to use in Gran Turismo 6. A parting gift, if you will. This is Polyphony Digital’s way of thanking fans that have been with them since GT5’s launch back in November of 2010.

If you get down with these challenges, starting early June you’ll be able to log into GT6 and get your reward. The reward cars are as follows:

• Abarth Grande Punto ‘09
• Renault Sport Megane R.S. Trophy ‘11
• Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) ‘08
• Tesla Motors Model S Signature Performance ‘12
• Subaru S206 NBR Challenge Package ‘12

Polyphony Digital says that these cars were chosen for their usefulness in the early stages of GT6.
