Horror-survival title GRAIN ROT has plenty of monsters to challenge you on your junk-collecting runs, but you also have a fair number of weapons to save yourself. While all the weapons can be effective in the right hands, some of them are better.

Complete GRAIN ROT weapons tier list
The number of weapons in GRAIN ROT is slightly limited in the current build, but you can find some great options if you know how to use them properly. I have used four different tiers.
- S-tier choices are the best options you can pick from.
- A-tier choices are decent alternatives for S-tier choices if you don’t have sufficient Gold.
- B-tier choices are situational and only work against a few specific enemies.
- C-tier choices should be avoided at all costs.

S-tier
- Sword: The sword is the best melee option in the game, despite the lack of ability to destroy items (it can, but it’s not efficient at that). The damage is decent, and it can easily kill most of the enemies you find in the dark depths. You don’t really need any strategy; just slash through the enemy and clear the path in front of you.
- Gun: Having range advantage against enemies in GRAIN ROT is great, since most of them try to get close to you. The Gun has decent range and damage, but be careful of the noise it makes. The noise can attract nearby enemies, who might swarm around you.
A-tier
- Hammer: Well-balanced weapon that’s good for killing enemies and destroying items. If it did more damage, I would have put the Hammer in the S-tier. If you don’t have a Sword, the Hammer is a useful alternative to have.
B-tier
- Mallet: Excellent when it comes to Demolishing items so that you can break them down for Gold/other resources. However, trying to kill enemies with this weapon is a strict no, as it only works against the smallest ones.
C-tier
- Hands: Fistfights might work in real life, but that’s not the case in GRAIN ROT. Neither can your hands destroy resources, nor can they do well in a battle. If you’re desperate and don’t have any other weapon, a few punches might be okay (but you’ll die, so it doesn’t matter).
