Or, it’s maybe an April Fools’ joke
Here we are on March 31 and Google’s rolling out April Fools’ Day jokes because it does not give a damn what your calendar says. While I wish this were real so I could finally earn my well-deserved recognition as a Pokémon Master, it’s looking like it’s not. How can you tell? Everyone knows Charizard would be much more difficult to capture than that.
But, you can still update your Google Maps app and go find some sort of digital Pokémon. All you have to do is click on them on your screen, and they get added to the ol’ Pokédex. Not quite as thrilling as climbing mountains, but we’ll take what we can get.
