Godfather II dev diary describes details of the Don’s View

EA’s The Godfather II hits stores in less than a month, so the final push to inform gamers about the dynamic, open-world title has begun. This developer diary, which looks at the Don’s View — the game’s RTS-like interface — is part of that, so check it out if you’re not familiar with the setup. The video tells you to be smart and take consigliere Tom Hagen’s advice; he explains how the Don’s View works (yay Robert Duvall voice-over!).

When you bring crime rings under the aegis of the Corleone family, you’re rewarded with perks — for example, taking control of a chop shop will provide armor for your vehicles. The Don’s View serves as a management tool for your underlings, such as arsonists, bruisers, and engineers; it’ll let you know who’s bringing in money and who’s dead weight. It also displays rival families’ interests and allows you to hire guards to protect yours. For more in-depth details, hit up Hamza’s preview and Husky’s video interview.

We’ve been psyched for The Godfather II for quite a while now; its February 24th release date (PS3/360/PC) can’t come soon enough. For more information, head over to the game’s official Web site.
