Godfather 2 will hit either late 2008 or early 2009

Today, Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello told an audience at an investor’s meeting that Godfather 2 is slated for late 2008 or early 2009. The information, according to Shacknews, was relayed in reference to EA’s upcoming Mature rated titles. Riccitiello said that the game would hit retailers “a few months” after Valve’s Left 4 Dead.

What wasn’t mentioned was for which platforms the game would ship on that release schedule. Will the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and PC versions all hit at the same time? Furthermore, the last time we heard about the Godfather sequel, it was just in reference to it being announced. Screenshots have come and gone, and details on the gameplay are still a bit sketchy.

Personally, I can’t say that I enjoyed the original game all that much. I enjoyed the drama and some of the action, but overall it was a very stale and glitch-ridden experience. Having to use real money to buy weapons wasn’t exactly on the top of my priority list either. Regardless, we’ll keep you in touch if we learn anything more.
