God of War: Betrayal video: 2D violence in the palm of your hand

Recommended Videos

If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you had quite a laugh when the mobile phone game, God of War: Betrayal, was announced by Sony Online Entertainment. The idea of trying to translate the visceral excitement of the series to the mobile platform is somewhat an absurdity as far as I’m concerned.

But I have to admit, this video has me calling my mobile carrier (Sprint) and asking “Hey, when the hell am I going to be able to rip a centaur’s legs off with my Blades of Chaos … and why do you keep screwing up my bill every month?”

Early hands-on with the game have been positive, and since I get off on tearing stuff apart with my bare hands, I’m definitely looking forward to tearing stuff apart in my bare hands. Something has to replace my mobile Tetris addiction, and it may as well be oodles of violence.
