Go behind the scenes with Sonic Mania Adventures

Neko Productions pull back the curtain

In recent months, leading up to the anticipated release of Sonic Mania Plus, a fun series of short cartoons were commisioned hyping the blue blur and his chums. Sonic Mania Adventures was a return to the ‘toons of old; short, funny, colourful and dialogue-free. As a result, they were pretty dang good.

Now that the short series is over, the talented men and women of Neko Productions have been featured in a new video, chatting about the hard work that goes into producing the three-minute show. This includes story concepts, character design, colour, sound and, of course, the time-consuming process of animation.

Though he may not have been constantly banging on about chili dogs, telling you what’s “No Gooood” or riding a cyberbike while rocking out on a guitar, Sonic Mania Adventures is what a Sonic show always needed to be; fast, funny, dynamic and a little irreverent. Here’s hoping the success of Sonic Mania Adventures, as well as Sonic Mania Plus, will lead to more shorts in the future.

Sonic Mania Plus is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
