[Update: Looks like someone jumped the gun on this one, as an Atari rep (obviously not the person running the Twitter account!) has confirmed with us that there has been no set release date for Sanctum of Slime. The March 23 date reference by Atari’s Twitter account is “not accurate at this time,” we’re told.

We’ll keep you updated when we get the final details on release timing, so look for another story about a release date, and pretend this never happened.]

Atari has revealed that its upcoming digital download, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, will be available on March 23 for Xbox Live Arcade and (likely) March 22 for PlayStation Network.

The release date reveal comes in the oddest of places: in a reply to my good pal, Ryan “Agent_M” Penagos of Marvel.com. God forbid Atari were to let me know about the release date first. Maybe if I had 1,438,752 Twitter followers… grumble grumble…

Sanctum of Slime isn’t the follow up to Terminal Reality’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game, instead a new take on the franchise as a top down shooter with support for up to four players simultaneously. You know, because there are four Ghostbusters. Someone should have thought of this sooner!
