Get in on the Dark Souls III beta

You’ll need a PlayStation 4 and PS Plus

My favorite part of this beta sign-up page for Dark Souls III is that you can shake the guy by wiggling your mouse from side to side. Life’s a lot more fun when you treasure the little things.

Anyway, the actual beta registration process starts here. It’s described as a network stress test for PlayStation 4 (so you’ll need a PlayStation Plus membership if you intend to sign up).

The test involves evaluating the load on game servers, checking the game system and balance, and eliminating any remaining bugs,” according to From Software. “As a result, unlike a typical game demo, please note that the game you’ll be playing is still a work in progress. Don’t be surprised if you run into bugs and other issues as you play.”

Testers will be chosen by lottery. The beta itself begins on Friday, October 16.
