Geometry Wars 3 is now a whole lot bigger

Free update with new enemies, levels, modes, and more

Lucid Games’ twin-stick shooter Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is no more. With today’s massive free update, which “nearly doubles” the game’s content, it is now known as Dimensions Evolved.

To summarize, there’s 40 new Adventure Mode levels, 20 Hardcore Mode levels that strip away drones and super abilities, some bonus levels, and a more fleshed out Classic Mode, among other things. I played one particularly cool level type, pictured above, in which your ship has no firepower but can drag along this trail of light that will destroy enemies who brush up against it.

New players will see Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions Evolved listed on digital marketplaces like Steam going forward — the new levels and tweaks are now rolled into the base game — while existing players can, again, play this stuff by updating their existing copy of Geometry Wars 3.

Good on you, Lucid and Sierra.
