The man behind Resident Evil‘s Albert Wesker lost his speaking gig for Geico Insurance, according to the Washington Post. Weeks ago Lance Baxter, or “D.C. Douglas,” dropped a lovely message with American activist organization “FreedomWorks,” asking them how many “retarded” people it currently had on its staff. The org posted the message this April, exposing him. His comments, and the negative publicity, probably led to Baxter being shown the door.
In the message, which can be listened to on Big Government.com, Baxter disguises himself as someone doing a paper about FreedomWorks. After establishing the identity he says, “I just need to know what the percentages of people that are mentally retarded who work for the organization and are members of it.” He also asks what the org will do if someone from it kills someone. In a recent press release, Baxter kinda reveals he was booted by Geico and maintains this call was private and a result of feelings he has for the organization’s actions.
