Weapons are the founding pillars of your builds in Gears of War: E-Day, and there are plenty of them to choose from. The in-game effectiveness of a weapon largely depends on the class you are using. That said, some of them offer more flexibility and damage, and you will find them easier to use.
In this guide, I will assess all the different weapons that are available and rank them accordingly.

Complete Gears of War: E-Day weapons tier list
To separate all the available weapons, I have used three different tiers.
- S-tier weapons represent the most powerful choices in terms of what they do in the game and how versatile they are.
- A-tier weapons are suitable alternatives for S-tier names, but they’re slightly less versatile to use.
- B-tier weapons can only truly shine if you make a build centered around them.

S-tier
| Name | Reason |
|---|---|
| Lancer Mk1 | This is one of the most versatile weapons in the entire game, and you can get it extremely early. It has amazing damage, and it’s equally effective in all ranges. You can use it with multiple glasses in the game, and it remains as effective as it should be. As long as you manage to control the recoil, you should not have any problem. |
| Prototype Lancer | Similar to the previous name, the Prototype Lancer is quite versatile to use. While the damage is not that high, you get a large magazine and ammo pool. This means that you will never run out of bullets. The Prototype Lancer also has my favorite melee option in the form of the chainsaw, which can absolutely shred through the enemies. |
| Incinerator | The Incinerator has limited magazine size and capacity, but it can do a massive amount of damage if you can trap enemies. The AoE damage of this weapon is also a bonus that few other options have. Unless you are playing as the Breacher, it will take a significant amount of time for you to unlock this weapon with other classes. |
A-tier
| Name | Reason |
|---|---|
| Longshot | The Longshot does things that you will expect it to do. It is extremely accurate, it’s extremely deadly, and it can easily one-shot enemies. However, it is a single bullet, single loader, and you will have to reload it after every shot. The Longshot also works only with the Marksman class, as there are better options for all other classes. |
| Breechshot | I really like the Breechshot’s reload ability that allows you to refill ammo after every shot (instead of a full refill). It has decent damage but lacks the flexibility you get with options like the Lancer Mk1. |
| Ripper | The Ripper has one of the highest DPS rates in any game, and you can also find it easily in corpses. The longer you shoot, the higher the rate of fire. However, you can quickly run out of ammo, and reload time is not that great. |
| Gut Puncher | There is a wonderful sense of satisfaction from blowing up enemies with a grenade. The Gut Puncher offers some of the best splash damage potential of all available weapons. Its utility increases if you are using the Medic class. However, you will have to be precise with how you land your shots since the ammo will be limited. |
| Gnasher | I love to use the Gnasher as my main secondary due to how accurate it is in close range. It’s significantly better than using a full-scale assault rifle if a Locust is very close to you. However, it’s not effective at mid-range or beyond. |
B-tier
| Hammerburst | While the Hammerburst does immense damage, you need to be extremely precise with it to make the most of what it offers. However, it doesn’t really gel well with the Marksman style of play. |
While weapons play important role in raising your chances of success, you should also pay attention the class you’re picking.
