Gears of War: E-Day has been out on PC and consoles in early access, but you’ll be able to play it soon if you’re waiting for it to come on the Xbox Game Pass. The same timeline also applies for those who went for the more budget-friendly Standard Edition.

Gears of War: E-Day Standard Edition and Xbox Game Pass release countdown
If you either own the Standard Edition or subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass, you can start playing the game on Tuesday, Oct. 6. It comes after the brief early access period. The following countdown will expire once the game Standard Edition of the game goes live.
The countdown is based on the following times.
- 9am PDT
- 11am CDT
- 12pm EDT
- 4pm UTC
- 5pm BST
- 6pm CEST

With the early access already live, I am not expecting any last-minute changes. If there is one, I will duly update it on this guide. If you have a Game pass membership, you can preload the game to save time.
What to expect from Gears of War: E-Day
If you have already played Gears of War: E-Day, you’ll know what to expect. The next chapter of the series takes place 14 years before the original Gears of War as you join Marcus and Dominic in a gripping narrative-based campaign. This takes place when the first Locust Horde erupts from below, triggering a fight for survival.
With a darker theme and deadly enemies at every corner, the campaign will truly test your skills. However, you can also enjoy the Horde Siege PvE and Versus PvP modes. In Horde Siege, you get to pick between four different classes and tag-team in a 4-player squad to take up on the horde.
In Versus, you get to enjoy class 4v4 games. You can either go for a relaxed match and pick something from the Social playlists, or you can opt for Ranked for a more hardcore experience.
