Operation 1, the first major DLC update for Xbox shooter Gears 5, goes live today. This drop brings with it six new characters, four from the Gears of War universe and two from the upcoming blockbuster movie Terminator: Dark Fate.

DeeBee, Warden, COG Gear, and original antagonist General RAAM will all be made available to the multiplayer roster. Whilst these additions are mere skins when used in standard multiplayer, every one of the new characters has their own bespoke abilities when selected for use in other modes, such as extra ammo for active reloads, or X-ray vision on nearby cover. In Arcade and Horde mode, COG Gear also has the ability to revive downed comrades when merely in their vincinity, helping them to fight on another day.

Meanwhile, the Terminator: Dark Fate character pack includes one of the upcoming movie’s lead characters, Grace – complete with the voice and likeness of actor MacKenzie Davis – as well as the Rev-9 Model Terminator. These two characters join the previously released characters T-800 and Sarah Connor.

Both character packs are live in-game today. Each individual character costs “500 iron” each (roughly five bucks), or can be earned in-game via the “Totem” grinding system.

Gears 5 is available now on Xbox One and PC.
