It looks like the San Francisco Game Developers Conference set an all-time record for attendance last week.

According to UBM TechWeb Game Network, the group who organized the conference, 18,250 attendees flooded the Moscone Convention center to meet with and learn from game developers. This is up over a thousand from last year’s attendance, which hovered around 17,000.

These numbers are interesting — being at the convention, it seemed the show had actually been scaled back this year. Clearly I was mistaken. Next year’s show may be even bigger — it’s already been scheduled to be held from Monday, February 28 to Friday, March 4.
