GDC 2008 is strong with Nintendo

The 2008 Game Developer’s Conference will take place February 18-22 in San Francisco. As you may have heard, Jack Thompson is not invited. New next-door neighbor Nintendo is invited, and they will be using the opportunity to show off several new titles.

Next-gen reports that Nintendo plans to show off WiiFit, WiiWare, and a little game called Super Smash Bros. Brawl in various sessions during the conference.

Details on WiiWare will be uncovered by Takashi Aoyama, team leader for Nintendo’s Network Group in his session Planning the Wii Menu: From Pre-Launch to WiiWare. It will be good to finally get some answers about the service. Perhaps we’ll see/hear more of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles: The Small King And The Promised Land while we are there.

Developer Masahiro Sakurai will definitely pack a room when he breaks down his new game in Building Characters: The Super Smash Bros. Brawl Postmortem. I think I can hear CTZ packing right now.

What else do you hope to hear about from Nintendo at GDC? I know you can’t wait for WiiFit
