GDC 11: Introversion sticking with Steam going forward

Chatting with PC Gamer at GDC, Introversion Software‘s Mark Morris admitted that the independent studio likely won’t work with Microsoft on another Xbox Live Arcade title in the foreseeable future.

“Do we regret working with Microsoft? No, but it’s unlikely we’ll work with them again … they make you work harder on the production value, but they don’t back it up with sales,” Morris puts it bluntly.

In the case of Darwinia and Multiwinia, he says that “XBLA were good to us and put us in the deal of the week, but it had no impact. Steam promotion was an order of magnitude better.” This sentiment sounds very similar to what Team Meat shared during its Super Meat Boy postmortem.
