Yoshinori Kitase knows things about the North American and European versions of Final Fantasy XIII that we don’t. And he should — he’s the producer for the title. The man is making the rounds in Cologne, teasing release windows and dropping statistics and other tiny tidbits about the upcoming release.

In a 1UP interview, Kitase said that the North American Xbox 360 version of the game is 70 percent finished. He also noted that all the voice-work is recorded.

Sounds like solid progress, right? It is. And that means we’ll be getting the game sooner rather than later. As in next year sooner, that is. At a recent gamescom gathering, Kitase said that the NA and European localisations of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game would ship simultaneously in Spring 2010 while the Japanese versions will hit winter 2010. Riveting!

FFXIII this spring? We’ll take that. How about you?
