Huh, I wonder who this DLC character is for…

The rumors and whispers were true. Just announced by Ludosity and GameMill Entertainment (via IGN), Jim Davis’ legendary Monday-hating, lasagna-scarfing, Odie-booting cat is joining the roster of platform fighter Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl — yes, the mighty Garfield will be free to download for all players from December 9.

As you can see from the trailer above, Garfield is bringing his pie-tossing/newspaper smacking antics straight from the classic comic books, as well as his smartly-dressed toe-tapping routine from the opening of beloved TV show Garfield and Friends. It’s great to see our furry friend in action, but I have to admit there’s something unnerving about not only his high-speed energy, but also the fact that he is seemingly is the same height as TMNT‘s April O’Neil. Terrifying. There’s no sign of Jon, Nermal, or Odie, but stuffed pal Pookie does put in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance.

Garfield joins a roster of Nickelodeon superstars that includes Ren & Stimpy and Powdered Toast Man from The Ren & Stimpy Show, Helga from Hey Arnold, Toph and Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob SquarePants, CatDog, and even Korra from The Legend of Korra. What a star-studded lineup. Don’t forget to grab the free Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Super DLC 2000 pack which includes an alternate outfit for every character on the roster.
