Everything announced at gamescom Opening Night Live 2026

It’s barely been a few short months since Geoff Keighley was on our screens with video game trailers and advertisements, but he’s back once more, and he’s bringing goodies.

Mr. Keighley’s Opening Night Live from gamescom kicks off on Aug. 25 and will run for two hours, showcasing some upcoming games that we know about, and hopefully dropping some surprises about stuff in the works.

So far, Keighley has confirmed the appearance of several games during the showcase, and some of them are coming soon:

• The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past
• Final Fantasy VII Revelation
• Gears of War: E-Day
• Ananta
• Tides of Annihilation
• Metro 2039
• Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
• Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons

But with two hours of show time, there’s sure to be some hidden reveals along the way, and that’s where the hype truly lies. Follow along below for a liveblog recap of all of the announcements out of the show today.

gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 – All announcements and trailers

The gamescom ONL pre-show kicks off at 12:30pm CT, with the real show beginning 30 minutes later. Updates are to follow.

Worms: Galactic Tactics – Reveal trailer

The pre-show hosted by Kyle Bosman kicked things off with a new Worms strategic tactics game, and the end of the trailer confirmed another new Worms game is in development.

Train Sim World 7 – Release date trailer

Trains! Trains? Yeah, trains, and a whole lot of them. The new game in the locomotive sim franchise is coming out on Sept. 15.

Roller Coaster Tycoon: Wonderworks – Announcement trailer

Speaking of sim games…Roller Coaster Tycoon is back! It’s coming soon to Steam early access, and looks like it captures the essence of the original games really well.

Aniimo – Release date trailer

The upcoming creature collector got a new trailer ahead of its release next month.

Genigods: Nezha – New trailer

An action RPG based on Chinese mythology? Sign me up. You can learn more about the new game here on Steam.

Perceptum – New trailer

Oooh, spooky first-person horror game. It’s coming to Steam in 2027.

Acornia: Mirror Worlds – Reveal trailer

Another 2027 title, this one is from the devs of Tinykin. You play as a squirrel.

Valor Mortis – Story trailer

The new first-person action soulslike is launching in October, and this new video revealed some of its story components.

Tankrat – Release date trailer

A rat in a tank. That’s basically all you need to know. It’s launching in January.

Murals – Reveal trailer

Another 2027 game. Are you sensing a pattern yet?

Humankind 2 – Announcement trailer

This whole trailer is from the perspective of babies being born. But it’s an RTS game about mankind.

Elta: Defy All Gods – Reveal trailer

A hulking beast with a cute lizard dragon pal. I’m sold!

Age Twisters – Reveal trailer

A two-player co-op game starring a kid with their grandpa, and it looks like a fun puzzle adventure.

Onimusha: Way of the the Sword – New trailer

The latest in Capcom’s samurai series is almost here, launching on Sept. 4, and the pre-existing demo also got an update to include more gameplay.

Mariachi Legends – New trailer

A gorgeous pixel-style 2D Metroidvania game, it’s launching this upcoming April.

And that was just the pre-show…now the real show begins. And here we go…

Geoff took the stage and the first thing he showed was a new world premiere, and an unexpected one at that. A gorgeous-looking new entry from Hoyoverse, and it’s not an anime gacha title. In fact, it looks like an Unreal Engine 5 Monster Hunter-like. I like what I see!

Rainbow 6 Tactics – Reveal trailer

A new Rainbow Six tactics game in the style of XCOM, complete with a narrative and operators from Siege. I like what I see here, too. Add it to the 2027 list.

Gears of War: E-Day – Campaign trailer

A deep dive look at the story mode for the new Gears of War prequel showed the game’s Bravo squad and the main Locust villain. It launches on Xbox and PC on Oct. 6.

Ananta – New gameplay and release date

I still have no idea what this game is. It’s anime but it’s GTA-style open world but you can swing around like Spider-Man. It’s launching on Jan. 15, 2027.

Silent Hill: Townfall – Cast reveal trailer

Silent Hill heads to Scotland and a first-person perspective, and it looks spooky as hell. It’s launching next month.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy – Launch trailer

Hey, I know this game because it drops in two days. Will you be picking it up?

Sea of Remnants – New trailer

Piracy, but the fun kind. This new sea-faring game can be wishlisted.

Crimson Desert: Enhanced – New trailer

An updated version of one of this year’s most polarizing games includes updates and post-launch content, and it’s on sale for 20 percent off right now.

Tides of Annihilation – New trailer

Angela Sant’Albano of Grace Ashcroft (Resident Evil Requiem) fame officially takes over for Jennifer English as lead character Gwendolyn.

Lofsöng – New trailer

A world where sound is the only language left. A beautiful indie with a lovely art style.

Megaman: Dual Override – New trailer

Capcom keeps cooking. Megaman’s 2027 return got a new look at gameplay and the confirmation of a new boss fight character: Twinkle Girl.

Rayman Legends Retold – Macarena trailer

Apparently, you can play the “Macarena” song in the new Rayman remake when it comes out on Oct. 1.

PUBG: ded.net – Reveal trailer

A new multiplayer FPS IP featuring motorcycles, cars, LMGs, and lots of cussing…and it’s attached to the PUBG name? Please hold, I need to do more research on this one.

Control: Resonant – New trailer

It’s almost here. Remedy’s latest is a few weeks from launch.

The Blood of Dawnwalker – Launch trailer

This game is also just days away. Witcher fans, check in.

Game of Thrones: War for Westeros – New trailer

An RTS that may be about 10 years too late when it comes to cultural relevance, but still looks pretty bad-ass. Did I just see Robb Stark and Jaime Lannister? Oh yeah. Daenarys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and the Night King are there, too!

Dust: Origins – Gameplay trailer

A gritty, sci-fi action game that looks like it may make for some fun twin-stick shooter gameplay.

Exodus – Release date trailer

I’ve had my eyes on this one for a while for its Mass Effect similarities. The gameplay shown so far has me a little skeptical, but this new footage shows off a sentient octopus squadmate. We’ll know more when the game launches on April 7, 2027.

Warlock – Gameplay reveal

This new Dungeons & Dragons game that I got a peek at last week is looking promising. Check out my interview with the game’s developers here.

1001: Threads of Mizan – Announce trailer

Magic carpets? Giant enemies? Okay, this looks pretty cool.

Silver Palace: House of Greed – New trailer

This third-person shooter with an anime style is getting some new content soon.

Metro 2039 – New gameplay trailer

The return to the Metro universe is looking gritty, nasty, and glorious.

Hitman: World of Assassination – Snoop Dogg collab

Showa American Story – New trailer

Yeah, I got nothing for this one. I have no idea what I just watched.

Road Kings – New trailer

“Be the hero of the open road” on March 11, 2027.

Stage Tour – Release date trailer

Guitar Hero and Rock Band live on in spirit! 90-plus songs and 180-plus collectible instruments will be available in this one when it launches on Dec. 10. And of course, there are some real world peripheral controllers to play it with, including guitars and a drum set.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour – Multiplayer trailer

Another returning franchise, eh? Here’s your first look at the Crazy Taxi revival’s multiplayer gameplay ahead of its launch in 2027.

Turok Origins – Story trailer

…ANOTHER returning franchise, eh?! A new trailer for the Turok revival showed off some horrifying monsters to slay in the co-op shooter coming in spring 2027.

Gravhounds – Reveal trailer

A studio made up of Halo and Battlefield veterans are coming out with a new shooter where you play as anthropomorphic dogs that are actually stuffed animal plushies? WOOF!

LEGO Skylines – Reveal trailer

LEGO Sim City/Cities Skylines?! Oh yeah, I’m down for that.

What’s with all the anthropomorphs? Furries are taking over! This action game does look pretty funny, though, with all sorts of animals teaming up for some wild combat scenes.

There Are No Ghosts at the Grand – Release date trailer

Decorator by day, ghost hunter by night. We all need a side hustle these days, I guess. It’s coming to early access in December.

Roco Kingdom – New trailer

The Pokemon-likes continue. And this one looks more Pokémon than most.

The Defiant – New trailer

An FPS that apparently takes place on the Great Wall of China.

Tarae: The Unbound – New trailer

A cool-looking Diablo or Path of Exile-like action RPG in yet another trailer montage where it’s hard to keep track of everything going on.

Like or Die – New trailer

A stylish Korean hero shooter with a lot of flair and some unique abilities. All the characters are conventionally attractive. Yay.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation – Story trailer

The finale of the FF7 Remake trilogy is coming in the spring, and today’s look is all about Meteor and Weapons. The 90s are alive and well.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered – Announce trailer

A remastered, reimagined version of Witcher 3 is coming with a suite of enhancements to coincide with the new DLC that looks to set up The Witcher 4. It’s a free upgrade, coming at the end of September.

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past – Reveal trailer
