Games of the Week for 10/4/2010: Zombie edition

Recommended Videos

I get the feeling that it’s going to be a slow news night. That’s okay. I have 72,000 zombies that aren’t going to kill themselves.

The Destructoid staff spend a little time each week playing videogames. And, once a week, we talk about the videogames we played during that time. It’s a complicated process, but if you read along I’m sure you’ll come to grok it in due time.

Chester: Comic Jumper, Rock Band 3, Wii Party, about ten minutes of Medal of Honor, some Shaun White Skateboarding for a preview, and the “Last Minute Comic-Con Scheduling” game.

Bennet H.: To drunk but I has Enslaved. Tameen is cute.

Concelmo: SO MANY GAMES THIS WEEK! Finished my replay of Final Fantasy IX (awesome!), played Plants vs. Zombies for the first time (amazing!), gave Comic Jumper a whirl (so good!), and took on Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 (a’ight and pretty good, respectively!).

Razak: Just download Psychonauts for my first play through and I’m hoping it will run on my crappy laptop. As for games I actually played, Darksiders. That’s pretty much it.

Toletino: Despite Games For Windows Live’s staunchest attempts, I was able to play Dead Rising 2 on the PC. Me likey, though the limit on inventory space is really chewing on my nuts.

And speaking of chewing on people’s nuts, why is it that the female zombies always go for Chuck’s junk?

Oh, and also playing Front Mission Evolved for the review.

Aziz: HomefrontKirby’s Epic YarnEarth Defense Force: Insect ArmageddonNat Geo Challenge! Wild LifeBeyond Good & Evil HD, From Dust, Outlander, Scott Pilgrim DLC stuff, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, random Ubisoft Facebook games, HydrophobiaComic Jumper, Super Meat Boy and of course, Halo: Reach

Ross: Civilization VValkyria Chronicles IISuper Street Fighter IV, and Dead Rising 2.

Bennett C.: SO jealous of Hamza’a Earth Defense Force experience! That being said, I played some Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light this week and was pretty floored by how fun it is, both in single player and co-op mode. Also working my way through all the bonus modes of Space Invaders Infinity Gene, totally admiring the Enslaved demo for its cinematic action thrills, and just starting Last Window: The Secret of Cape West, which I’m hoping will rock as much as Hotel Dusk did.

Leray: I haven’t played much of anything this week, just a little Pokemon HeartGold

Oh, and Matthew, if you’re trying to run Psychonauts on your PC, I highly recommend using a wired 360 controller, or a Dualshock 2 adapter + a program like Xpadder. The keyboard and mouse controls are, to use a technical term, dogshit. You’re really going to want some analog sticks.

Sterling: I have played:

Enslaved: Awesome. Samurai Warriors 3: Neat. Blade Kitten: Dull. Hydrophobia: Shit. Quantum Theory: Shitter

Devore: I spent an entire afternoon playing Dead Rising 2 co-op, another afternoon playing the Terror Is Reality multiplayer mode, and a few nights with Comic Jumper. I also played this indie PC title called Delve Deeper; my review should be up on the site by the time you read this.

Sarkar: I spent my week playing NHL 11 for review, and not playing Hydrophobia. I also watched a friend play the PSN Scott Pilgrim game, which looks marginally fun but has awesome music.

Holmes: Pokemon WhiteSuper Meat BoyDead Rising 2A Kappa’s Trail, Ouendan 2Zeit2Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Scott Pilgrim (featuring Knives Chau), Outland, tons of games on Niero’s multi-game arcade cabinet.

THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST WEEK EVER.

Perlee: Demo of EnslavedKirby’s Epic YarnBeyond Good and Evil HD, Scott Pilgrim, Civ V, and some other stuff I cannot remember. Oh! Hard Corps and Rush N Attack.
