We all remember Bangers & Mash, and nobody can pretend that they don’t. Let us all bask in the nostalgia that we all have for those cheeky apes and their madcap shenanigans. It really doesn’t get anymore zany than this, and you can cram it all up the inside of your winking spicehole if you disagree.

Anyway, videogames. We played them. This week, in fact. What fun. Hit the jump for seeing it all about what is inside of it in the it that we have done playing with it and games on the in of it and that.

Chester: Finished up God of War III, so expect a review on Monday (noon Eastern time). Popped in Mass Effect 2 and, while I already played for about an hour, can already tell it’s a much better game than the first one. And that’s about it really. Mostly preparing for our GDC coverage next week, which is going to be crazy. I already need a nap.

Sterling: Playing Calling for review and it’s not very fun. Stopped being scary thirty minutes in and is now just tedious walking and pathetic puzzles. Also been playing No More Heroes because I want to beat that before getting the sequel. It’s testing my patience though. I like the main ranking stages, but literally everything else is dogshit. That’s about all I’ve been doing. Gotta clear my plate before Final Fantasy XIII destroys the rest of my month.

H. Bennett: After waking up from a very weird dream I felt completely compelled to re-play Final Fantasy X, so I dusted down the old fat PS2 and did just that. Really forgot how much I loved that game. In my books only FFVIII is better, the game is visually stunning, brilliant story, great characters and the music is so beautiful. Shiva is the sex.

Otherwise these last few days have seen me playing Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing for review, which I have to admit I have really enjoyed. Yes, it is a Mario Kart cookie-cutter but its cute, colourful, fun and is appealing to my inner nerd. God damn I love Ulala…”Spaaaaaace channel 5!”

PerLee: I started playing Persona 3, and I’m at the part where the dog joins my team. I dunno, but coming back after almost a year of not playing was hard. However, I think as soon as Atlus announces Persona 5, I’m all over that.

Devore: Tons of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 with Brad and Tdiddy. I’m also a few hours into Deadly Premonition, which has me laughing hysterically every five minutes. Once I figured out you could run through doors rather than taking ten seconds to open them, my only real complaint is that those damn dirty QTEs are easy to mess up.

Tolentino: Lots of Bad Company 2 on this end. Like pretty much everyone else, I am practically enraptured by that game’s sound design. There’s an incredible sense of scale to the whole affair.

Also, being a medic is a very feel-good job.

Other than that it’s been Dragon Age and Assassin’s Creed II, both to be dethroned by Final Fantasy XIII and Resonance of Fate in the coming weeks.

North: I’m playing Heavy Rain…and get this: I like it. All y’all haters can suck it. Sure, I may hate it when it’s all over, but right now I dig it.
I would have named it Heavy Speech Impediment, though.

Tolentino: Play it in French, Dale. We’re used to subs anyway!

Aziz: Lots and lots of Modern Warfare 2. I’m only using the Intervention and
PPO90 Machine Pistol. Deadly combo!

Concelmo: Still playing Persona 3 FES, which — given the game’s epic length — I will probably be saying in this post for weeks and weeks to come.

Also, Mega Man 10! AHHHHHH! Loved every second of it. The first Dr. Wily stage is so, so awesome. I really hope Capcom keeps releasing these 8-bit Mega Man games. They really are glorious in every way.

Even though I will be San Francisco next week, I am going to play as much Final Fantasy XIII as I can before I go. And then I get to come back to God of War III. Good times.

Razak: I beat God of War 2 (holy crap) and Uncharted (good, but I like Tomb Raider’s puzzles better). Jumped into Uncharted 2 now and if the first 20 minutes say anything it is amazingly more awesome than the original, though I’m a bit put off my Nathan Drake’s lack of character development. Hopefully that will change.

Probably going to get Mega Man 10 soon.

Sarkar: I went to an EA event in Manhattan on Wednesday and played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in 3D, on three monitors. It was pretty insane, though I don’t think I’d pay hundreds of dollars just to have that experience in my house — it didn’t add all that much to the game. There was a bunch of other stuff there, but (A) much of it wasn’t playable, and (B) I can’t talk about it yet.

Wednesday was also the day I received my review copy of MLB 10 The Show, though I didn’t really get to start playing it until Friday. I’ve already started up Road to the Show as a catcher, and it’s pretty fun to call games behind the plate. I need to get better at hitting, though. Unfortunately, the game has some strange loading glitches — upon loading a new screen (for example, the main menu), it’ll often freeze for a few seconds, leading me to wonder if the game crashed. Never seen that before in The Show.

Holmes: Mega Man 10, Mass Effect 2, and the Monster Hunter 3 demo.

Leray: I’ve been playing the Secret Armory DLC for Borderlands (and enjoying it very much), but I’ve been spending most of time playing Risen for the Xbox 360. I’ve put in, probably, 10 hours without so much as scratching the surface of the world or even really getting much stronger. Part of the reason is that Risen is a huge, immersive world; the other part is that it’s unintuitive to the point that I’ve been walking in circles for days now.

I’ve also been playing FIFA 10 Ultimate Team DLC rounds out the week (also for review). It’s, y’know, kind of like regular FIFA 10, but more convoluted. I don’t think I “get it.”
