Halo, Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, Uncharted … you name a major modern franchise, and GameLoft’s been “inspired” by it. Now the mobile powerhouse has its eyes on The Legend of Zelda, with a mysterious new title that has been teased in the video above.
I’m in two minds about GameLoft nowadays. I think they’re very talented mobile developers who generally get away with the copycat software because they pick on big franchises who won’t lose anything, create game experiences that the official devs just wouldn’t bring us, and are sometimes just better at giving us mobile experiences than the real deal.
However … it’s still pretty damn shameless, whatever way you slice it.
In any case, if this new game follows GameLoft’s usual pattern, I shall likely play it and likely enjoy it. Is that wrong?
