The general vibe I’m getting about Fuse is that of disappointment. The cooperative shooter isn’t what people want from Insomniac Games, and although I feel similarly, we should probably wait until we have first-hand experience with the title before judging too harshly. A chance to do exactly that is coming up: a demo for Fuse hits Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on Tuesday, May 7.

For what it’s worth, this demo supports full four-person co-op online and two-player split-screen; there’s not enough of the latter in modern games. In Insomniac CEO and founder Ted Price’s own words, “When it comes to Fuse, the biggest thing we’ve noticed when sharing it with others for the first time is that playing is believing.” We’ll see — there’s a lot for the studio to live up to.
