Furi adds an Invincible Mode for accessibility and speedrun practice

The setting is now available in the console versions

The team at The Game Bakers has shown generous support for Furi, and those good vibes continue this week with the Freedom update. Among other features, the ruthless boss-rush fighter now sports an Invincible Mode: a way to “enjoy the audiovisual and narrative experience” without frustration and also a tool to assist speedrunners and “the most hardcore players who want to practice their fight.”

Beyond Invincible Mode, there’s also a skirmish with Bernard, a prototype boss drawing “inspiration from the best of all the bosses,” a speedrun mode in the Furier difficulty setting, and another control scheme. If you own the Steam version, this will all sound familiar, but for everyone else, it’s new.

Essentially, the Freedom update is a way to bring about feature parity across all the different platforms.

  • PS4: Invincible Mode, Speedrun in Furier, Controls D. (You already have Bernard if you own Furi Definitive Edition or Furi and its DLC One More Fight)
  • Switch: Invincible Mode, Controls D. (You already have Bernard and Speedrun in Furier).
  • Xbox One: Bernard as an extra boss, Invincible Mode, Speedrun in Furier, Controls D, replace HUD option.
  • GOG.com: Invincible Mode, Speedrun in Furier, Controls D. (You already have Bernard if you own Furi and its DLC One More Fight).
  • Steam: All this content as already been made available to you over the last months. (You already have Bernard if you own Furi Definitive Edition or Furi and its DLC One More Fight)
  • Limited Run on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, game and Collector Edition: the update should reach them in the following days.
  • Note: EA Origin, We Game, and some Asian versions are not updated.

I love what they’ve done with this game. If you haven’t played Furi yet, some versions are on sale.
