[Update: Looks like the full versions of the DLC characters (like Elena) are being unlocked on the 360 disc via hacking, as seen above. Sorry folks, but the video was already taken down, but now we have a videos from the same crazy dude featuring Lei, Bryan, Mega Man and Pac-Man. Watch it before it gets shut down too! A Cody and Guy video lies below. Thanks Eternal0Star and SuperNintendo!]
It’s been a big weekend for Street Fighter X Tekken news, and a lot of it will be sure to infuriate anyone looking forward to buying the game on the Xbox 360. Other than the alternate costumes shown off on a recent live stream (including Ogre-Gill), it’s all pretty much a slap in the face to 360 owners.
It’s looking like the character models, prologues, and endings for most of the characters presumed to be DLC (including Elena, Guy, Alisa, Mega Man, Pac-Man and other fan favorites) for the Xbox 360 version of the game are actually on disc. The situation is still a bit muddy, as Capcom never formally announced that these characters will be paid DLC. They only announced that they would be introduced on the PS Vita and/or the PS3, and that all of the game’s potential content would be eventually made available to everyone who buys the game (meaning that there won’t be a special edition disc of the game later).
You’ve been found out, Capcom, and I don’t think saying that this DLC has a “separate budget” is going to help you out of this one. If it has a separate budget, then why are some or all of the these characters available for free on Sony consoles? You’d do well to release all these character for free on all consoles when the time comes, lest your once loyal fans rage-quit your games in favor of Skullgirls, KoF XIII, BlazBlue, or any of the other great fighters out there.
All of the relatively-spoiler free endings (and two of the prologues that Eventhubs didn’t post) for the 12 DLC characters can be found in this post. Watch them now before they get taken down!
