I am yet to nail down the appeal of those games where you’re just told things are happening, but there’s definitely an appeal. It’s almost like a text-adventure, except without the story. Age of Legends (iOS) is one of those types of games. I’m sure the genre has a name.
In any case, you pick a hero, and then send it out on quests and level it up. You buy new equipment, you secure yourself land, and you do all of it without any real gameplay to speak of. Minimal interaction, yet strangely compelling all the same.
