Freddy Krueger confirmed for Mortal Kombat

The rumor that Freddy Krueger (from the Nightmare on Elm Street films) and Jason Voorhees (from the Friday the 13th movies) are both headed to the latest Mortal Kombat has been floating around for a while now. Having those two blood loving, grody bastards in a series that first made a name for itself with the word “Fatality” makes perfect sense. The idea makes even more sense to me now that I’ve seen Freddy’s official appearance in the game. We can only hope that this confirmation of half of the Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Mortal Kombat rumor will lead to the first Mortal Kombat appearance of a certain waterlogged, c*ck-blocking zombie as well.

You know what would be arguably even cooler than that? If Capcom officially announced a new entry in their own fighting game series about zombies, dream-eaters, and other monstrous freaks — a series that, coincidentally, rhymes with “c*ck blockers”.

San Diego Comic-Con is a crazy event, folks. Anything could happen, so stayed tuned. While you wait, why not check out details on Freddy’s moves, pricing, and date of DLC availability? It’s all waiting for you after the jump.

Comic-Con: Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat [IGN]

A good warrior eats, breaths, and dreams every fight – only now those dreams are about to become nightmares. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios open the door to the arena for the fourth DLC warrior to enter the Mortal Kombat fight – legendary dream stalker Freddy Krueger. Featuring two vicious fatalities, an arcade ladder story ending, and a full move set, this marks the first time Freddy has ever challenged the brutal kombatants of the legendary fighting game. Coming out in August, Freddy will be available on Microsoft Xbox Live for 400 Microsoft Points or for download as a part of the Season Pass program or for $4.99 on PlayStation Network
