The spooks of battle bay
Epic Games has released details of its plans for Fortnite’s Halloween-themed event, Fortnitemares, bringing PvE elements, new weapons and challenges to the battle royale phenomenon.
Fortnitemares, (or the much less interestingly titles “Update 6.20”), will dot the battlefield with zombies, or “Cube Monsters” to add an extra element of danger to an already pretty hazardous environment. Wacky new aesthetics include rocket launchers firing pumpkins, and new weapons in the form of the Hunter’s Fiend Crossbow and an old western style six-shooter. Check out this creepy spider gear and glider (hidden for arachnophobes)
Previous Halloween skins will be made available once again, while new Legendary skin Deadfire will actually evolve in form while you play. New challenges will feature throughout the event, the first of which sees players seeking out, and dancing in front of, Gargoyle statues for XP and rewards.
You can check out the Fortnightmares trailer below and read the full patch notes right here. Fortnite is available now on PS4, PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and iOS and Android devices.
