Forspoken gets a magical new gameplay trailer

Ushering us into the next generation

Square Enix has been showing off Forspoken as one of its most prominent titles over the past year, and with the release date approaching quickly, we’re finally getting a better glimpse of the gameplay. During today’s State of Play, Forspoken‘s new gameplay trailer showed us a bombastic third person gameplay system featuring monsters, magic, and lot of cool parkour moves. We still don’t know much about the game by way of story, and with this being the first substantial glimpse of the gameplay we’ve gotten, the game is still shrouded in a lot of mystery.

We learned this week that the Forspoken was being delayed to October, so seeing the date at the end of the trailer wasn’t much of a shock. As far as the rest of the preview, the game looks like fairly standard fare as far as open world, action adventure games go, but the world and characters have a unique style that will help it stand out among the crowd. Forspoken has always had something about it that has made me root for its success, and it seems like Square Enix is vying for this to be their next big franchise to compete with the likes of God of War and Horizon.

Forspoken is officially set to release for the PlayStation 5 on October 11, 2022, and pre-orders are available now.
