Former PixelJunk devs’ Nova-111 looks real clever

A mix of turn-based and real-time play

Recommended Videos

The concept of “real-time” has begun bleeding into the otherwise turn-based world of Nova-111, a super-neat-looking game from ex-PixelJunk developers. I’d recommend watching this trailer to get a better handle on what that means, exactly. In short: “good things.”

I got a bit of a mobile vibe from the footage, but Nova-111 is thankfully planned for release on PC, Mac, and Linux this year. As much as I like the look of the aforementioned gameplay premise, it’s the sci-fi theme and charming personality that push this one over the top for me.
