First-person platformer A Story About My Uncle hits Steam this month

Grappling hooks are cool

A first-person platforming adventure in which you play as a guy looking for his lost uncle might not sound immediately appealing as far as game setups go, but A Story About My Uncle has got a grappling hook and pretty floating islands to use it on. It’s winning me over.

I’m also liking the sound of the game’s non-violent nature. Shooting things to bits is fun a lot of the time, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t find it to be fun all of the time. The monster at the end of the video did look threatening, though — wonder how that situation will be resolved.

Coffee Stain Studios of Sanctum and Goat Simulator fame posted the trailer above, but the studio is actually working on A Story About My Uncle in a publishing capacity — the developer is Stockholm, Sweden-based Gone North Games.
