First peek at God of War: Chains of Olympus

Here it is: Ready at Dawn’s crack at the popular Sony franchise, God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PlayStation Portable.

The trailer doesn’t reveal much, except that the game seems to be sticking closely to the tried and true God of War formula. You know, Kratos is angry and rips people apart with his blades. Story wise, it appears that the game will focus on the legend of Kratos, rather than advancing any narrative players have followed on the consoles.

The real question, of course, is just how the game’s controls will be handled on the PSP. Maybe you’ll find out sooner, rather than later — Sony is giving away a limited number of “special edition” UMD demos. By limited number they mean that once they’re done giving them out, you’ll probably have to talk to some pasty faced cashier at your local game shop to pick one up.

God of War: Chains of Olympus will be available later this year.
