Firewatch flares up and spreads to Switch today

Dry is good but wind is better

Here’s a potentially dangerous hypothetical: This summer, a forest ranger could play Firewatch in their lookout tower, distracted and completely oblivious to the first signs of a fire. That’s the sort of possibility only afforded by the portable nature of the Switch.

Campo Santo’s 2016 mystery walkabout Firewatch arrives on Nintendo Switch today. It’s $20 on the eShop, which is the same as the current prices on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The developer has already said that it focused on optimizations to make sure the Switch port doesn’t suffer from performance issues that plagued Firewatch when it was originally released. Those tech improvements will filter out to all platforms, meaning every version will benefit slightly. Nearly three years later and Firewatch keeps on burnin’.
