Fire Emblem was originally going to crossover with Pokemon before Conquest ruined it

Instead we got Tokyo Mirage Sessions

We heard so little about Tokyo Mirage Sessons #FE over the course of its development that some of us feared it was canceled, but it had undergone a number of changes before it actually came out the way it did (which was good, by the way!). According to producer Hitoshi Yamagami, the project was originally going to be a Fire Emblem x Pokemon joint, but that was scrapped after learning that Pokemon Conquest (the Three Kingdoms SRPG crossover) had actually already been proposed.

But Yamagami forged on, and after many trials and tribulations, managed to scoop up Atlus and ramp up development. He also reminds us that we actually didn’t hear anything about it after its announcement for years because it was just a “rough idea” when it was unveiled. All’s well that ends well!
