Fire Emblem Heroes live stream reveals Aether Raids mode and teases Book III

Will you be King or Queen of the kingdom?

Last night saw Nintendo hold a brief live stream for their popular mobile title Fire Emblem Heroes, revealing a brand new mode for the Free-to-Play iOS and Android equivalent of Barcode Battler.

An all-new mode, Aether Raids, will be going live in-game tonight. Players will be able to build a small range of structures – or “Aether Keeps” – and set defenders to garrison them. Players can then attack each other’s Aether Keeps, whilst attempting to keep their own mini-kingdoms standing tall.  Over time, “special” structures will be added to the mode, which will provide various effects on the battlefield, such as healing properties, for example.

Although Aether Raids can only take place a limited number of times in a 24-hour period, successful players will level up and earn a new form of in-game currency, Heroic Grails, which can be exchanged for more heroes in Grand Hero Battles and Tempest Trials. The first Aether Raid session begins tonight from 23:00 PT / 02:00 ET.

The stream ended with a very brief teaser for the next full chapter of Fire Emblem Heroes’ story mode, Book III. You can check out the full VOD from last night’s stream below. Fire Emblem Heroes is available now on iOS and Android devices.
