Owners of the PSN version of Capcom’s latest HD remake(s), Final Fight: Double Impact, are finding one feature of the game particularly undesirable: it requires an online connection. Users across various message boards are reporting that it is impossible to boot this version of the game while their PS3s are offline, making it rather hard to enjoy the offline modes of play that come with the downloadable.

It’s a strange issue that, according to Joystiq, isn’t happening with the Xbox 360 version of the release. We’re in the process of asking Capcom why the new downloadable would need a ‘net connection to work and why the issue is only affecting PS3 owners. If you’re feeling the burn currently, we suggest using the connection you downloaded the game with in order to play. Yeah, it sucks, but you already bought the game, right?
