Rejoice Western Final Fantasy fans tired of seeing your favorite JRPG series released months before you can understand it; Final Fantasy XV will be the first ever Final Fantasy mainline game to see a simultaneous worldwide release.

We can all pretend to be a hot, armor-clad boy band on the same day regardless of where we live. That’s pretty damn cool.

The news comes from an interview between GameSpot and director Hajime Tabata, in which the director addressed that this was a first for the series.

This may be something that we are little bit embarrassed to talk about, but really, this is the first time that we’ve done a packaged, standalone Final Fantasy game with a simultaneous global launch, so we didn’t have the setup to deal with that, really. The first thing we had to do was rearrange our internal structure to create something that could do that. That was the first important work on the project.

Final Fantasy XV is due for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2016.
