Final Fantasy XV could be set in Tokyo, Japan

Look in the background of the newly released Final Fantasy XV gameplay trailer that Square Enix released this morning. The foreground of these shots looks like some kind of fantasy world, but the background looks a lot like my hometown, Tokyo. Shinjuku, specifically. Maybe it’s not Shinjuku, but there’s definitely a dual city thing going on. It’s like they’re in the future where a new world has been built on top of an existing one.

The other smaller things my sharp eyes have noticed? The big TV in the background of some of the battles is “powered by Sphere.” Check out the ruins in the middle of the waterfall toward the end of the video. And what are those strange floating boxes?
