Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is still trucking, and its 2.1 update, titled “A Realm Awoken” is set to drop on December 17th. In addition to a new instance called “The Crystal Tower,” the update will include player housing mechanics, a PVP arena, and arguably the biggest new feature — the Duty Roulette. Said feature will allow you to enter random instanced dungeons or trials daily, granting you enhanced rewards.

I’m still enjoying A Realm Reborn on PC, and I’m still surprised at how well the game works with a controller — even on later levels. I also can’t wait to see how the PlayStation 4 version looks. Not only has Square crafted a great MMO, but they’ve also shown that with the right support, a subscription based game can still exist in this day and age.
