Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn hits PS4 in April

Beta testing to commence alongside console’s launch in Japan

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is making the leap to PlayStation in April 2014, Square Enix announced today at the annual PlayStation Awards in Tokyo, Japan. The MMO was the recipient of the newly-created “Special Award,” which recognizes games exhibiting originality, buzz-worthiness, influence and performance.

Beta testing for the PS4 release will begin worldwide on February 2, 2014, which coincides with the console’s Japanese launch. Prior to then, producer Naoki Yoshida will host a live demonstration for the title on December 14, 2013. The broadcast will feature content from the upcoming 2.1 patch, which is slated to drop a few days later on December 17.
