Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD has over 60 remastered tracks

It’s got the looks and the sounds

Curious why Final Fantasy X HD and Final Fantasy X-2 HD are taking so long? Square is doing quite a polish job on them, that’s why. In addition to doing things like adding a whole new 30-minute scene. This latest video, which we posted last week, showcases the dramatic upgrades the company is making.

While I’m suitably impressed by how much better the game looks in HD, the remastered soundtrack is music to my ears. Over 60 tracks have been remastered for the HD release. That’s a healthy majority of the game’s original four-disc, 91 track soundtrack. I’m equaly happy to see the changes made to the HUD. The whole thing is much cleaner and more modern. Even the Overdrive prompt has been enhanced.

Here’s hoping this much attention is paid when Square delivers an HD version of Final Fantasy XII, right? Maybe I can in fact hope they scrub Vaan and Penelo and let the already stellar game reach its intended heights.
