The Vans and Square Enix partnership that no one asked for just became a reality. Well, sort of. An Etsy seller made these lavish, detailed shoes depicting memorable scenes from the beloved Final Fantasy VI (or Final fantasy III to us Super Nintendo-owning Westerners). These leather painted puppies go for $200, but with small sizes (Men: 10, Women: 8), these shoes are for petite feet only.
She isn’t messing around with this stuff! Here’s a more thorough description from the seller:
The left shoe has Locke, Edgar, Terra, and Celes in their battle stance. Celes is setting up her attack as all the characters are boarded on a zeppelin. The left side shows an opera house where Mog is whimsically putting on a show. The easter egg is the older Kefka from the beginning of the game in the audience. The right side displays a travel map background where Locke is roaming to his destination. The very back is the action interface that allows what option the characters have while showing how much life is left.
The right shoe has the final form of Kefka with the luminous, cloudy background. Also, the flaming mountain prior to Kefka’s final form shows the destruction of the world it has become. The quote is from the game as you meet him in the end of the game. The right side is the first stage of Kefka while the left is the second stage of Kefka. The back is the map of the World of Balance before it reaches it’s final world after Kefka’s destruction.
