The Final Fantasy port train keeps a-rollin’!

Square Enix has good news for PS3 and Wii owners who, for some ludicrous reason, have yet to play Final Fantasy VI. First up, the FMV-loaded PlayStation update will be arriving on Japan’s Game Archives this Wednesday. Given the ease with which one can create a Japanese PSN account, international folk who want a piece of this action shouldn’t be discouraged.

Of course, if you want your game in English, head on over to the Virtual Console. Both Japan and PAL territories have already gotten their FFVI on, and now it’s time for US fans to get a little somethin’ somethin’. Naturally, this will be the Final Fantasy III-labeled version as it appeared on the SNES, but I doubt nostalgia buffs will be splitting hairs over that. There’s no announced date, but we shouldn’t have to wait too long.

Show of hands: who has yet to play this game?
