Final Fantasy Versus XIII treats my body right

Recommended Videos

There’s a certain feeling you get in your body when you really want a game. I never got that feeling from Final Fantasy XIII. Final Fantasy Versus XIII  is something else entirely. This is the kind of game my body can get behind.

For starters, I’m loving the look of the simple-yet-exciting real-time combat system, which appears to allow for both melee and projectile attacks. I’m also really into the way that Final Fantasy XIII Versus embraces the modern (and by modern, I mean post-GTA 3) trend in gaming towards real world environments, and juxtaposes it against a decidedly fantastic set of monsters, mechs, and hairstyles. Some of the mechs look like something out of Final Fantasy 3/6, and you can hop in one and cruise around what looks like the streets of Tokyo. Righteous.

It seems like Square-Enix is begging us compare this game to Final Fantasy XIII-2, what with the Versus name and all. So from the looks of them, which are you more into, Final Fantasy XIII-2, or Final Fantasy Versus XIII ?

(Thanks,Tim!)
