In this guide, I will help you understand which ones are worth using, and which ones are average at best.

Complete Final Fantasy Resonance Vision tier list

When you’re starting out, the number of options in your hand will be rather limited. However, the list will increase as you clear more in-game content. To separate all the available Vision, I have used four different tiers.

  • S-tier Visions are overpowered in terms of their in-game effects.
  • A-tier Visions are slightly more limited in scope compared to the S-tier choices.
  • B-tier Visions are average at best. They get the job done, but don’t offer anything exceptional.
  • C-tier Visions have limited scope of operations.

S-tier

VisionReason
BartzWhile you don’t unlock Bartz until the late game, he is easily the best Vision. First, his Dual Spellblade ability triggers all Spellblade abilities twice. This also works for other Visions and their Spellblade attacks, which is incredibly powerful. Then there’s his Mimic ability that allows a unit to copy his last action.
CloudCloud has two elements and great damage potential. You unlock him in Chapter 1, which makes him a great choice for beginners. He can efficiently restore MP for the entire party.
SquallInevitably, there will be battles that go on for a longer period of time. Squall’s abilities reach their full potential in those fights since he gets buffs from the number of skills you use. I love his double action ability, which allows you to chain two attacks in a row.
ShantottoShantotto is one of the most powerful magic users in the entire game, and you can also cast two spells in a single turn with her dual cast ability.
TerraHer biggest strength is her ability to cover for three elements. She is one of the strongest Magic attack Visions and she only gets better with her upgrades.
TronnJust like Terra, Tronn covers for three different elements, and you’ll unlock him every early in the game. His damage and passive MP restoration combo makes him a great asset for both beginner and late-game players.

A-tier

VisionReason
NoctisNoctis offers a chance to create extra bonus phase, and that leads to free attacks. He also raises stagger, critical rate, and does more damage to scanned enemies.
SephirothHe offers boosts to your ability and critical damage, and also improves survivablity with different passives. With coverage for four different elements, he can be one of the most flexible Visions in the game.
AyakaOne of the best healing Visions in the game with thanks to her different skills and passives.
FirionWhile Firion is a pretty decent option, his final ability, Arms Akimbo, scales him up to S-tier. With the ability, you can take two actions in a single turn by sacrificing a minuscule amount of MP.
CecilBest option if you want to use a tank, and provides boost to your attack, defense, and Health.
Warrior of LightThis Vision works well when you need more survivability and element coverage at the beginning of the game.
ZidaneWith Steal, you have one of the most unique abilities in the game that allows you to capture valuable items. His base damage is also pretty high.
YshtolaReliable healer who can help the entire team survive. Works well as a secondary healer.

B-tier

VisionReason
LeahWhile Leah is an excellent healer in her own rights, she is outdone by Ayaka. Despite her attacking potential, I will always go for Ayaka as my primary healing Vision.
CamilleWorks well with the water element, but not much use elsewhere.
VictoriaVictoria is a decent magic attacker, but there are plenty of options that come with better abilities.

C-tier

There’s not much to write home about these Visions. You can use them if you’re limited in terms of available Visions.
